what are impact resistant shingles?

Impact resistant shingles are a great option available for homeowners who are looking at a complete roof replacement.  These shingles are designed to perform better than standard shingles after strong impact testing both in the lab setting and after a natural weather event.  When compared to standard shingles, impact resistant shingles do not crack or rupture immediately after hail impact.  They also perform better against wind, holding up against high wind events up over 100 mph.

Though no shingle offers a 100% protection against storms, impact resistant shingles are the best on the market to protect your home against strong hail and wind weather events.  Selecting an impact resistant shingle is initially more expensive than traditional shingles, but many insurance companies offer an incentive to have them installed.  Give Capitol Roofing a call at 817.453.8555 to see if impact resistant shingles may be a cost-effective alternative for you.

It's great to know that impact resistant shingles are the best on the market to protect your home. I would love to get these kinds of shingles, especially because my current shingles are cracked. I'll look for a roofer near me to help.
